Someone loaned me this book and after I had read the first few pages, I went on Amazon to order my own Kindle copy. What an outstanding story, told in a unique way. The author stays in the background for the most part and allows Chester Travis to speak his memories, which the author transcribed. The account of this family's many years of service in Viet Nam is gripping, witty, exciting and at times heart-wrenching. I recommend it highly and only hope that it has the wide readership it deserves.Product details

The Faith that Chester and His wife exhibited in their lives is a true testimony of Gods Grace and love for all of us. The fact that they stayed on the mission field for 12 years without furlough demonstrates the strength God will provide when He has a job for us to do. This is a wonderful memoir of beautiful missionary couple who trusted in the Lord for everything. It's a must read!
I've read many missionary biographies and gained something from each of them. This is a powerful story for so many reasons. The Travis's incredible devotion to the Lord, and his desire to make himself known among those who don't know Him. Their devotion to the people of Viet Nam, even in the most dangerous and difficult circumstances, and finally their love and devotion to each other. The Christian world needs more people like the Travis's. They leave a powerful example to follow, the question is "will we follow it?"
